Easter

Easter in not about a childhood myth of a bunny. It is not about a hunt for "who can find the most eggs." It is not about chocolate or gifts. Easter is about "[Jesus Christ] is risen."

I absolutely love Easter. Furthermore, I love Christmas! These times of year is when everybody suddenly gets spiritual. You find out that your parents, friends, or family actually know about the Bible. Also, these times of year, the atmosphere that is in the air is heavenly. Everybody is so nice and willing to hear about Jesus Christ and him crucified. They are willing to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. However, people are missing the mark when it comes to these two holidays. Many scholars (or so-called "edu-macated people") get caught up and say "Well this is not the day that Jesus was born" or "This is not the day that Jesus rose again" which is completely idiotic. Excuse my profanity. These days are chosen, in order to take a day out of the calendar to observe these momentous occurrences. Just like Memorial Day. Before I get to off topic let me merge back into my point. My thought is, after all the food has been ate, after all the gifts are unwrapped, and "thank you's" are exchanged; where exactly is Jesus in your life? Is God first in your life? Is He consuming your mind always? This day, about 2000 years ago, Jesus was thinking YOU! He was thinking "I know it hurts to be on this cross... OUCH that spear hurt! But OHHH how I need to stay up here for my children! OHHH how I love my children! I may be humiliated now, but it will be worth it, to give humanity 'life, and life more abundantly. I want them to make it to heaven!'" Jesus Christ was thinking you on that cross. He got up on that cross with a purpose. He died for you, so that your sins can be forgiven. The blood of bullocks and animals did not suffice the need for the sins of humanity. However, the blood of Jesus, that trickled down that cross will suffice you and your sins. The blood of Jesus still washes as white as snow. They whipped him all night long for you! There is nothing that you can do that Jesus can not forgive. The blood of Jesus covers every sin! As I hold back the tears as I am writing this, I think about all that God has done for me, I have no idea where I would be. God saved me in a time when the thought of endeavoring into alcohol and drugs was oh-so incipient, but Christ had a plan for me and one night he wrapped his arms around me and said "its okay, you are forgiven, the price has already been paid."

You probably read this and said, what in the world does this have to do with Easter, but Easter is about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how you apply it to your life. Before you go to bed tonight, please think about "Where is God in my mind? Will I make it to heaven?"

If you read this and are not in church, please feel free to ask questions about church and salvation
