The Kind of God We Serve

Last night, my pastor had provided me the opportunity to preach to our youth. However, many of the young people that were there, were not even teenagers yet. Nonetheless, God still was able to make an impression upon their hearts as many of them were earnestly praying in the altar long after the altar call was made.

One of these young kids was a 7 year old girl that has had a rough upbringing. However, God decided to move upon this young girl as she began to weep before the Lord. And let me tell you, it is absolutely heart-wrenching to hear a little girl just completely breakdown like she did. As she continue to weep, though, my pastor began to coach her on how to receive the Holy Ghost. I was praying for someone else at the time and as time progressed I stopped dead in my tracks because I could not believe what I was seeing. I have only heard, but never have I witnessed such a young person be so close to getting the Holy Ghost. And to my surprise, this little 7 year old girl was speaking in tongues as the spirit of the Lord gave the utterance!!! It was absolutely beautiful to witness!

Yes, I did have to repent because I did doubt that such a thing would happen, but it just reiterates how awesome an mighty the God that we serve is.

God impressed me last night to become urgent about saving even the youngest in our youth group. We have a duty to be examples and aids to this age group in order to help them overcome the hardships that they will face in these perilous times.
